  • Make sure to empty vacuum bags regularly
  • Don't forget to vacuum corners

It is important to remove any spots you find on the carpet immediately.  The longer a spot dwells the harder it is to remove.  Any general carpet spotting cleaner should work fine as long as you get to it quickly.

  • When cleaning a stain, always wipe/blot from the outside of the stain to the inside so you don't spread it out further
  • It's important to use a clean wet cloth and try to remove as much of the carpet cleaning chemical as possible once the spot is removed

Tips on Keeping Your Carpets Clean

Placing area rugs at entryways is a great way to keep your carpet clean.  Many people don't realize just how important regular vacuuming is if you want your carpet to look great for a long time.  Over time, carpets that are not vacuumed regularly will have damaged carpet fibers.  The dirt and debris on the carpet is ground in by foot traffic fraying the tips of the carpet fibers and causing a permanent discoloration.

Many people use their own vacuum type carpet cleaning machine.  These are great if you have pets as it's a great way to attack pet stains right away.  While they work great for stains and small areas, it doesn't offer the deep cleaning ability of a truck mounted steam cleaning.
